Visible Grace

Today, the Pope died and I start writing. Earlier this week I was told that in a few years we all will have a blog. Will the next Pope have a blog? Our lives span such momentous times. I intend to use this very public forum to stay in touch with myself. If anything I write strikes you as important to your life, please let me know. I write now just for myself. I hope that as time goes on, we will write for each other.

I am a mother, a teacher, a daughter, sister, aunt. I am an artist, a gardener and cook. Corita Kent, Sylvia Ashton Warner and Jonathan Kozol are my mentors. I know that my main life contribution is yet to be given. Who are you?

Have you seen the movie "The Mission" with Robert Deniro and Jeremy Irons? As much as I am disenfranchised by this Pope's church, I am still drawn to the Jesuit message to the natives of the rainforest, gentle and fierce at the same time.
For me, it all comes down to intent. Whiile I am hardly a candidate for divine inspiration, I seriously doubt if Jesus would be a Catholic if he walked the earth today. WWJD?
